My favorite season

I love fall. It is my favorite time of year. The colors, the smells, the cool mornings and crisp evenings, and football. As an added bonus - its perfect convertible weather.

Another thing I look forward to... apples. I have always liked apples, liked not loved, until I found one specific variety. What is it you ask? HONEYCRISP! These are the sweetest, juiciest apples ever. I discovered them last year when I was trying out different varieties (since there seem to be a million different kinds) and this one is by far the best. It's a little early in the season yet - they are available, but not as sweet as they will be in Oct/Nov. To me they are the epitome of fall. The red/green color and the crispness. It's all good!

Now I'm off to enjoy the evening and my apple. Hope you're having a good weekend.

more later...

ME TOO! Fall is hands down THE BEST season of the year! I miss the old Indiana falls. There are no hay rides, halloween fun houses or apple cider in Italy! Ugh! I really missed it last year (my first fall in Italy). I am so happy that I will be back in Indiana for the month of October! Yeah! I am going to carve pumpkins and drink apple cider until I get sick.

I like Red Delicious apples, which are easily available. And I love all products made with apples... American style apple pie, apple cobbler, spiced cider....the list goes on.

Oh, I love fall too. It's always my favorite season back in the states, but where we are in Le Marche Italy, it's just foggy and cold and rainy--no trees that change color (or at least, very few!). anyway, the honeycrisp apples sound incredible--I miss orchards soo much. Luckily, I'll be back in the states in November, so I'll get a little dose of fall, at least. Enjoy the season, and eat an apple for me!

Here it still seems like summer, I'm really looking forward to the smell of woodsmoke and some fresh cool air, hot baths and pomegranates!
